Social Media Manager

Job Description

All eligible applicants will have minimum 2 – 5 years’ experience as social media manager or social media marketer at a company or agency.

The social media manager plays a key role in all brand communications to build and support our clients’ online reputation. A successful candidate will bring innovative, enterprising ideas to the social media team, stay abreast of emerging technologies, demonstrate good professional judgment, and work within brand guidelines. This person is responsible for social media content creation, comment moderation, and monitoring across multiple social media platforms on behalf of clients. The social media manager should have demonstrated skills in writing for social media and the web, some photography/videography experience, ability to follow, implement, and evaluate social media trends, and the ability to initiate and drive new ideas. This person needs to collaborate well with others in their team and across the agency and should also be able to work well independently.

Responsibilities

  • Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content for all social media clients
  • Create a regular publishing schedule for all social media clients to be reviewed by the Content Manager or Account Strategist for each client
  • Execute on social media strategy for each client to meet or exceed the defined KPIs for follower growth, engagement, awareness and web traffic
  • Create and/or curate and manage all published content (images, video and written)
  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns
  • Performing research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Become an advocate for the client in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
  • Monitor engagement on all platform and web traffic metrics, and revise strategy to improve KPIs
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy
  • Actively participate and seek-out ongoing education to remain highly effective
  • Collaborate with other strategy, project manager, design and analytics teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
  • Oversee design and setup of all social media accounts (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Provide monthly reporting on all social media activities including postings, engagements, follower growth, audience insights and recommendations for further improvement on results
  • Assist in creating additional needed social media reporting and/or social media audits for existing or potential clients

Requirements:

  • Ability to write in multiple brand voices and accurately represent each brand’s persona and voice through all social media interactions (posting, commenting, engaging, responding, choice of third party content, etc.)
  • Assist in creating additional needed social media reporting and/or social media audits for existing or potential clients
  • Proven work experience as a Social media manager
  • Proven ability to create engaging content and an authentically engaged audience with the end goal of building brand-value and growing awareness
  • Hands on experience in content management
  • Understand how to create engaging, authentic social media posts and content
  • Experience engaging organically and naturally with followers and influencers online in real time and in brand voice
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels
  • Familiarity with web design
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Maintains excellent writing and language skills
  • Enjoys a working knowledge of the blogging ecosystem relevant to the company’s field.

Experience:

  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience with all major social platforms and proven creation and execution of successful strategy for each
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing
  • Experience with task management tools and social posting tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, Meet Edgar, etc.
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing brand and social media strategy to grow awareness, engagement and drive traffic to websites
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing
